Brownie Red is a beautiful medium size Bucephalandra of the Brownie Series. The leaves of this subtype can change from a dark green towards a brownish green with a bluish hue. Newer submerged leaves generally get a soft red or dark red colour. The hue intensity depends on the quality of the lighting.
The leaves of the plant get a stronger oval shape when grown submerged, with a strongly defined midrib. Leaves can get a more distinct wave in them.
Bucephalandra Brownie Red is a perfect species for beginners at keeping Bucephalandra. It’s not a highly demanding plant, and it is not the slowest grower of the species. As with all Bucephalandra species, Co2 injection is not required, but will help increase the growing speed.
